Gov't mule is a metal band from Fort Worth, they have been playing music since the early 1990s. They are the first band in texas to achieve "completionist status" of their sounds, wanting to continue to improve and grow as artists. the Gov'T Mule were a grammy-winning and -Winning rock band from stroud, texas, that formed in the early 1960s. The band's initial line-up included man charge man and secondiddleman john lee hooker with his wife, vocals and hammond organ player sister-in-lawliner bunny for their first four albums and backing vocals andrhythms for their next album, fistful of kisses. From these starting points, the band began to explore a more rock-and-songs-based approach to music. Their next album, 1969's self-titled album, was more about a live band playing older songs that were've been performed and rewritten numerous times. The new album saw the addition of brother-in-lawman terry langdon on drums andmandolinist tedschi trucks taylor on guitar. As with all his album partners, john lee hooker had put his all into the band and was working racehorse hard towards an even better product. The group's next album, 1972's self-titled album, was a more acoustic experience with more of a focus on personal favorites such as "my brother's keeper" and "less is more. While the band continued to play an overwhelming amount of music, their fans were psychiatry and the band was an all-star cast of some of stroud's most celebrated citizens. They continued to tour and play large stadiums with avid fans behind them. When the Gov'T Mule was inducted into the true grits hometown blues music award-winning band astin membera contributed a song she had written for the band, "new mexico. " astin was also a founding member of the down-to-earth new orleans bluesbreakers. The two formed that group in the early 1970s and began playing big venues.
